Across the nation, environmental issues, such as inclement weather, natural disasters, and global climate change disproportionately negatively impact the health and wellbeing of low-income communities of color. Drawing attention to these intersections of race and class, I aimed to put a human face on three experiences of environmental injustice scattered across our nation, all connected to water: ice melting in Alaska, and its risks for native peoples, delayed governmental responses to Hurricane Katrina, and the ongoing water crisis in Flint Michigan. Each iPad landing page that I designed and wrote is dedicated to each particular issue, using narratives and scientific information from local sources.
